DESRIBE ANIMALS (and insects)
CAN/HAVE/ARE visual support with 40 pictures!
I hope you find this as useful as I have in helping our kiddos
come up with attributes to describe animals (& insects).
Many teachers use the CAN/HAVE/ARE concept, and here I have
included visual choices to help them.
Included in this packet are:
CAN/HAVE/ARE visual with pictures choices
CAN/HAVE/ARE visual without picture choices (to use when child
has practiced and had substantial success with other visual.
4o animal/insect pictures. Animals from zoo, ocean, farm,
pets, forest, desert, and our lovely insects. 3”x5” size
Print packet out on cardstock, with color ink. Laminate.
Easy to use:
Use the visual and present a picture to the student.
Help the student examine the visual for what attributes pertain
to the animal or insect at hand. I would make it fun, and
mark the visual with wipe-off markers or play-dough (smash it).
Then, go back and look what was marked and recite (Sharks
CAN swim, Sharks HAVE fins, Sharks ARE ocean animals).
When child is ready, move onto blank grid.
Use your own pictures of animals/insects as well.
