One of the best loved poems of all times, “Casey at the Bat” by Ernest Thayer will have your students amused! It lends itself to a dramatic presentation by your students, as well as, enforcing those Common Core standards.
Task Cards are a very useful tool, allowing students to work in cooperative groups and thus learn from each other. The 8th Task Card provides differentiation for those higher students. Cooperative groups encourage those students who need a little help. You can also use them for review, whole group assignments, and at a center. The uses are almost endless.
