Practice the tricky -ch and -tch word endings with this cute game. Players take turns rolling the die, moving ahead that many spaces, and turning over a card. If it can be completed with the word ending on the space, the player keeps the card. The player can continue to turn over cards, one by one, and keep the additional cards, as long as they can also be completed with the word ending on the space (the player doesn’t roll or move again during a turn). However, if the player chooses to turn over another card and it cannot be completed with the spelling on the space, the player must put all the word cards earned on that turn in the discard pile. If a player lands on a mouse hole space he/she loses a turn. If a player lands on a “good kitty” space he/she rolls again. To reach the final space (and catch the balls), a player must roll an exact count. When the first player reaches the balls he/she chooses one of the word endings— ch or tch, and turns over 3 cards. The player keeps any that can be completed using the selected ending. After the first player to finish plays these bonus cards, all players count their word cards. The player with the most cards is the winner. Includes game board, markers, 48 word cards, recording sheet and word list.
A bonus bingo game is included. Word cards are turned over and all players must find a space with the correct /ch/ ending and write the word in that space. 8 different boards (and some spaces with more than one word ending that must be completed), ensure each student has a unique board.
