This social story starts off with looking at one's strengths and weaknesses. Often times our kids with perspective taking challenges think they are good at things because they have faulty perspective or vise versa, think they are bad at things incorrectly. The sci-fi game of Magic is used as a metaphor/comparison for making friends. One's use of words and actions are explained as being the power to make or not make friends. Often our kids think that kids are their friends, even though those "friends" may take advantage of them. A t-chart explains actions of friends vs. those of not friends. Finally "thinking errors" are explained and examples are given. This product works great with higher functioning students on the autism spectrum.
