My IEP GOAL AND OBJECTIVE BANK/ASSESSMENT BANK BUNDLE GRADES 1-2 is an ESSENTIAL resource bundle for Primary Grades 1-2 special education teachers.

Components of the Bundle include:

2) An Introduction and User’s Guide which describes the Bank in detail and explains a 6-step process for aligning IEP goals and objectives to the Common Core State Standards; and

3) A worksheet correlated to the 6-step process that IEP teams can use when determining what standards/goals/objectives to include on a student’s IEP and how to individualize them for each student.

4) A complete Assessment Bank for the Reading and Mathematics common core areas that includes multiple assessments for every ELA Reading and Mathematics Common Core Standard/IEP Goal/Objective contained in the above IEP Goal and Objective Banks, Grades 1-2. A total of 4 assessment banks – Reading and Mathematics, each containing more than 100 complete, authentic, curriculum-based assessments to be used to assess student progress toward Common Core Standards/IEP Goals and Objectives.

The IEP Goal/Objective Banks contains the Common Core Standards and deconstructs or unpacks the standards into measurable goals and objectives, written in behavioral terms required by IDEA and school districts. The Banks are in Word Document and Adobe PDF formats, which makes it simple to copy and paste goals and objectives into lesson plans and IEP documents. The Assessment Banks contain multiple assessments aligned to each of the Common Core State Standards. The standards in the Assessment Banks are deconstructed into two or more objectives for teaching and learning. The assessments are authentic and curriculum-based and were designed to provide you with relevant student performance data. The assessments correspond to each standard/goal/objective within the IEP goal and objective banks.

Due to the nature of some assessments and the frequency of administration, I have included multiple forms of most all assessments, (Form A, Form B, etc.). For these assessments, teachers can alternate use of the different forms to reduce the possibility that students may learn the responses to the assessments simply by engaging in the assessment repeatedly. Multiple assessments also allow for the administration of pre- and post-tests to evidence progress and growth in mastering individual standards.

Most all assessments have an accompanying Assessment Record for teachers to use to document student performance and progress in mastering the standard or objective across trials and over time. Teachers choosing to use these Assessment Records simply transfer the assessment data from the actual teacher or student assessment form to the Assessment Record Form. These Assessment Record forms would be ideal to use to monitor student performance over time and to report student progress to parents during parent conferences or to team members during Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings.

The assessment banks contain scoring rubrics for those IEP goals/objectives in the IEP banks that call for rubrics as a means of measuring performance/progress.

Also included at the end of the Assessment Banks are three CCSS Class Performance Records, organized by subdomain for the subject areas of reading and mathematics. These Class Performance Records can be used to determine the overall performance toward the Mathematics Common Core Standards for an entire class. Teachers using these forms can easily and quickly see the overall level of performance for all students in one class related to individual standards to assist in planning and making overall instructional decisions.
