Identifying Integers Spoons Game for up to 6 students!
Spoons is fast paced and can accommodate up to 6 students easily. It is very exciting and is great practice for identifying integers, absolute values, and number lines. It's accessible to a wide range of abilities and is good vocabulary practice, as well. It’s a great game to use at guided math centers, for test review, or even indoor recess—my students have actually raced across the room to be the first to get to play.
All you have to do is provide the spoons!
Comparing Integers War - for 2-3 students
*Students Instructions, with variations and extensions
*reference number lines
*student answer sheets
War is a quick and easy game to set-up and learn. Students get much needed practice in comparing integers and recognizing absolute values.
Included in the packet is an answer sheet. Students can record each match to practice writing the comparisons with the proper symbols. This can keep them accountable for their work. Sometimes, though, students just need to play a game to blow off some energy, and then there is value in letting them play without recording anything. Both are valid uses of the game.
