This is an assessment intended for Second Grade, Quarter 3 however, depending on your students ability levels you may want to use it for quarter 2 or 4.
On this assessment, students are asked to identify the name and value of the each coin (Quarter, Dime, Nickel, Penny) based on a picture of the back of each coin, as well as solve 2 word problems where they are asked to draw and add mixed coins. For example, Danny's dad gave him 3 quarters, 2 nickels, 3 dimes, and 4 pennies. Draw his money and tell how much money he has in all. Students are also expected to use the correct symbol ($ or ¢)
There are also 2 multi-step word problems. Students need to solve to see how much money 2 people have, compare to see who has more, and then tell how much more money that person has. Please see the thumbnail pictures for an example of this.
The test is 3 pages long and an additional page is added with a suggested rubric.
I hope you find this assessment as useful as I do! I also have a quarter 1 assessment and quarter 2 assessment available in my store as well as an end of the year assessment that covers every math standard :)
