By using these notes, your students will have a step-by-step guide and examples to lead them through the planning and writing stages of an expository/explanatory essay.
Each section of an expository essay (introduction, body, and conclusion paragraphs) includes an outline of how the paragraph should be structured and an example of a properly formatted paragraph.
The examples are based off of an essay prompt about To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Students were also assigned an additional essay prompt based on the novel to plan using the guides. However, these notes can be used for any expository essay topic.
