This game supports CCSS.4.NBT.A.2--read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
This game can be played in two ways—bingo-style or tic-tac-toe style. The “A” directions let students play bingo-style, where they use a game board that has answers filled in already, but students still must read the task cards and decide which answer is correct. There are 2 game boards, in case partners wish to play again. The “B” directions let students play tic-tac-toe style, where they use a blank game board, and if they answer the card correctly on their recording sheets, they fill in their answers on the game board with their name by their work. Their answers serve as their “X” or “O,” as in tic-tac-toe.
