This activity will have students analyze campaign commercials from the 1960s - 2016. While watching the videos, students will be tasked with answering questions that will lead up to them determining which evaluation strategy the video most closely relates to. The strategies include:
- Separating Fact from Opinion
- Detecting Bias
- Evaluating Sources
- Identifying Propaganda
The students had fun seeing old campaign attack ads. You could either conduct this activity whole group or in small groups if students are given their own computers.
