Chalkboard Word Wall
I created this product for my 1st grade classroom. The words on the list from A-Z coordinate with the words most used up until 2nd grade. This word wall also coordinates with several of my other products to help design a coordinated and calming room. This word wall goes with the “Words for Writing” book I also have posted. It also coordinates with my alphabet strip and my locker/mailbox numbers. I like my room to have a consistent look and these chalkboard products do the trick. I also find my word wall to be a very calming place in the classroom.
Print each of the pages on cardstock and laminate for durability. Create your word wall with the letters of the alphabet on the top of the individual lists of words. Some of the letters have two or even three pages of words that go with them. For example: A has three pages of words. I would cut and tape the three pages together to get the entire “A” list of words. Look at the pictures of my finished word wall. You can see the seams if you look closely, but the wall looks GREAT!
Each day you can have students practice 1, 3, 8, 10 (or however many you choose) letters and all the words that are under those letters. Also, use the “Words for Writing” booklet for an easy reference students can use at their desk. Your students will have consistent and constant access to the words they come in contact most in their reading and writing.
