Challenge students to create THEIR OWN scientific diagram. Perfect for gifted and talented students - this is NOT a worksheet coloring page! NGSS MS-ESS1-1 HS-ESS1-4
In this activity, students are lead through very specific, very detailed steps in order to create a drawing of the Earth's orbit around the sun. In the diagram, each of the four seasons are represented with the proper tilt of the axis. Students will use a protractor (we included a printable one if you don't have any plastic ones), and colored pencils. After following the steps to create the drawing, writing labels, and adding color, students answer 6 analysis questions on the back of their drawing. This is as much an exercise in FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS IN TEXT as it is about seasons!
Note: This can be a challenge for students! They need to read carefully and follow the steps in order to correctly complete the diagram. Struggling learners will need support to complete this activity.
