Chemical symbols are often difficult to remember, and rarely fun to learn. It doesn’t have to be either. This work sheet challenges students to scan the Periodic Table of the Elements to find symbols that match a sequence of atomic numbers, forming words. Of course the puzzle-like nature of the work will entertain the students as they work. But more so will familiarize them with the Periodic Chart and the symbols found within it. Kids can work separately or in pairs, as homework, or as a supplement to any atoms, elements, or chemistry unit. It is available separately or as a part of my five-work sheet bundle, “CHEMICAL SYMBOLS AND ATOMIC NUMBERS ARE FUN!”.
