130 FRENCH CHRISTMAS BINGO GRIDS - LOTS OF FESTIVE FUN WITH THESE FRENCH CHRISTMAS DIFFERENTIATED BINGO GAMES!
BINGO! really is the perfect game for developing listening, speaking, reading and
writing/spelling skills in FRENCH. This Christmas pack includes 10 non-editable files, 4 blank grid templates - my students love to create their own grids for each other, and it's a fabulous way of practicing reading, writing and spelling skills - and 130 BINGO grids:
40 picture-only bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages). You can give
students a random selection of pages, with students selecting the order
of grids they play from. You can also cut out the grids, and place them
in a small bowl or similar object on tables. Students select grids randomly
from the bowl. I also mix the grid types - for example, French word-only grids,
picture-only grids, English word-only grids and grids that students have created
themselves - when students select grids randomly from that blend, you can really
play with huge numbers of students all at once - in general though, if you just choose
a single grid-type, you can have several winners per game, or very few, depending
on the size of your class! You might prefer to laminate the grids, especially if you are
printing in color - students can use wipe-clean pens, and you can recycle the grids
many times. Color and B&W.
40 French word-only bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages).
Color & B&W.
40 English word-only bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages).
Color & B&W.
4 12-square grid template for students to create their own word or
picture grids for each other. B&W.
10 jumbo picture-only 24-square grids. Distribute the grids among
students, several grids per student. Color & B&W.
1 French and 1 English calling card, with all the words written in full - I use these over and over again, simply calling out in a different order, and ticking each word off as I call it out. B&W.
I've designed the games for players to cross off all the words or pictures on their grids in order to win the game.
GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR FRENCH CHRISTMAS BINGO!
Before playing, read all the words out loud in FRENCH several times, with students
repeating carefully - this not only helps students develop their FRENCH
pronunciation, but also introduces them to words they may not actually know - they
really don't have to know all the words - this is great for honing the memory and
developing recall and listening skills. Students can also have their own calling card to
read out loud from, one for a small group of students is sufficient - this will help them
to link sound and spelling in FRENCH. The words focus on definite and indefinite
article, plural and singular, masculine and feminine - I've found this really maximizes
opportunity to practice grammatical concepts too. Give students a little time to have a
quick look over their grids first. Create BINGO teams, each with a CHRISTMAS team
name - playing competitively in teams keeps up a lively pace! For each game, select
a different CHRISTMAS word as the ‘winning word’ for students to call out when they
win the game. Students must recite all the words in their grids to check that they
have actually won - also giving another opportunity for practicing language. As you
call out words in random order, remember to tick them on your calling card so that
you can check the winners’ words - you’ll be able to use the same calling card for
multiple games. Let students be the bingo caller too. Vary the challenge by calling
out FRENCH words for FRENCH grids, FRENCH words with ENGLISH grids,
ENGLISH words with FRENCH grids!
MERCI BEAUCOUP ET JOYEUX NOËL !
