I hope you enjoy this. Just print them out on cardstock, laminate and glue together. Give each student a scorecard listing the spellings pattern. Students roll the die and move the correct spaces. The space they land on they need to read the word and copy it onto their spelling scorecard in the correct spelling pattern space. The first student to fill their scorecard correctly wins.
There are 2 different game boards (Color & B&W) with all the spelling patterns, and 1 game board (Color & B&W) for each of the sounds, with scorecards.
Skills taught in Unit 5:
- /u/ spelled ‘u’ (but), ‘o’ (son), ‘ou’ (touch), ‘o_e’ (come)
- /ə/ (also called the schwa sound) spelled ‘a’ (about), ‘e’ (debate)
- /ə/ + /l/ spelled ‘al’ (animal), ‘il’ (pencil), ‘el’ (travel), ‘le’ (apple)
- /sh/ + /ə/ + /n/ spelled ‘tion’ (action)
