Ideal for the multi-level LINC or ESL classroom, this listening task is one of two listening tasks (CLB5 and CLB6) with differentiated listening task expectations on speaking with recruiters at a career fair that allows the multi-level classroom to work on the same task while each learner receives a task that is assessed according to the Canadian Language Benchmark criteria for their CLB listening level.
The listening task: Speaking with Recruiters at a Career Fair for CLB5 is also available for purchase from this TPT store.
This CLB6 listening task comes ready to print and distribute to your CLB6 learners.
This listening task will allow you to informally assess the vocabulary knowledge and listening comprehension abilities of learners based on listening to career fair advice and listening for work purposes. Please ensure that you have done a lesson on preparing for a career fair and learners have had prior practice listening for work purposes. (Examples of vocabulary words and terms to have covered prior to this listening task: recruiter / recruiters, interview, resume, career fair, interaction, impression, sponsorship, hiring process, selection, posture, prepare / prepared).
As with any CLB task, please double check that the listening assessment given to a learner specifically matches the listening assessment level that learner is working towards. For example, if a learner is at a CLB 5 level, this learner will receive the CLB 6 listening assessment, as this is the level the learner is working towards earning.
