Each piece fits on a regular 8.5” x 11” piece of paper.

All the instructions you need to successfully create this poster are included!

Two poster options available
There are a variety of annotation marks and combinations of ways you might be using them. I have created two options so that you can either use the ones I have pre-selected (poster option #1) or customize the poster with your own annotation marks (poster option#2) by writing/drawing in the ones you use with your students. I explain how to customize option #2 in detail (see preview for sample pictures).

Poster option #2 allows you to write/draw your own annotation marks/symbols on the large pencil portion of the poster. This is helpful if you use a different arrangement of annotation marks from poster option #1 or want to change the wording in any way!

Use the planning page I have included to decide what annotation marks you want on the pencil and where you want them. If you work with older students they could help with this part!

Annotation Marks included on Poster Option #1:
! – Surprising or Important
? Questions
→ Connections
Heart – Favorite Part
Star – Main Idea
Circle unknown words
