This is a checklist for students to follow from while they read a text. The second page of this handout is of 4 per page to be printed out for student use.
This checklist can be copied and laminated for each student to have and keep a copy. Laminated copies are great for students to check off the step they are on with a dry erase marker.
Everyone has their own version of the CLOSE READING checklist, but for many of my students, it is most important to begin by numbering the paragraphs for later reference, this helps students with tracking information, identifying context clues and finding vocabulary words.
If you have a "go to" tip, please share it and I will add it to the list.
