As you all know, students look forward to watching CNN 10. If your students are like mine, they want to watch it every...single...day. On the days you watch it in your class, make it meaningful with a tangible activity.
BONUS: This activity nearly runs itself, so teachers get 10-30 minutes of Teacher Task Time, per class, while students are engaged with the news. What a nominal investment in exchange for valuable Teacher Task Time!

This activity is meant to be used as a way for students to follow along with CNN 10. The assignment can be used as a classwork grade, a ticket-out-the-door or as a homework assignment.
-- This activity is not a general activity. It is specific to the date it airs.
--It can be completed as students watch the 10 minute episode, or students can
complete the questions at the end of the episode as a recall activity.
--Intentionally, I use narrow margins to fit two copies on each page. The idea behind
this is to allow a teacher to use less paper and ink.
-- Have students watch, listen and answer the questions. The Depth of Knowledge of
the questions will vary.
--At the end of the segment, you may want to allow students time to partner-up and
discuss/complete the activity.
--As all good teachers do, ask the higher-level questions that get students interested
about the world in which they live!
--I want students to think, but I don't want them to miss the video. I try to make
questions that keep them paying attention, but that allow them to watch more than
