WHITE COOL, BLACK HOT.. Why do dark colors get hotter in the sun than lighter colors. Students will explore the absorption of heat by different colors. Included is careful planning of scientific method, observation and temperature reading, recording of data, and making conclusions about the effects of light on color. An overview provides complete background information and physical concepts. The lab can be easily followed by students with a minimum of teacher direction.
