HOW IT WORKS
Students work in small groups and move about the classroom to five different stations to complete puzzles and activities related to comma rules.
In the first station, students insert missing commas in examples to reveal a numeric code.
In the second station, students read a story about a treasure hunt that contains missing commas. They add commas and insert words to the left of the comma into a key to reveal a mystery word.
In the third station, students match up each of the eight comma rules to a sentence that uses the rule. Once they have them matched up, a mystery word is revealed!
In the fourth station, students add missing commas in examples and insert words to the left of the comma into a key to reveal a mystery word
The final station has students decode an encryption based on hidden symbols they have to find throughout the game to reveal a quote!
