Let students do the work as they research a class literature assignment, create their own comprehension questions and answer them! A complete lesson plan for elementary and middle school. Then the fun begins: it’s a contest to the finish line as they compete in groups for the treasure.
This activity is an engaging way to reinforce Common Core comprehension skills, Bloom's Taxonomy levels of understanding, or simply to review a class literature selection before a final exam. Place your students in groups of 4 or 5 and present the rules. Then, let them go at it. You are the final judge as to the quality and effort of your students’ questions and answers, but they do the initial work of creating the questions, an answer key, a treasure box, and a treasure map. They also do the scoring!
FUN AND CREATIVE!
