CVC, CVCe, blends, digraphs
COMPARATIVE WORD FAMILY SPELLING is a great tool for students who are beginning to learn CVCe words, have mastered CVC words and are experienced with blends and digraphs.
COMPARATIVE WORD FAMILY SPELLING will help your students distinguish the long and short sounds for A, I, O and U as well as build their vocabulary. Word Family Spelling Lists are included in this set—review these before your students begin, and then use them to check your students’ work.
These lists are meant to be used and re-used. Print the set on cardstock; fold, or cut each page in half down the middle; glue the back sides together, and laminate. Hole punch the upper right-hand corner and store each set on a loose-leaf ring. Your students can use dry-erase markers to fill in the lists.
Your students can keep track of their progress by checking off (we like using a hole-punch on our tracking sheets) each word family they complete. In the editable Student Progress Card Powerpoint file you can personalize these tracking sheets with your students' names using a font of your choice, or use our favorite—Star Jedi download it for free at http://www.dafont.com).
