A hands-on Motion GRAPH Analysis-- can DistTime and SpeedTime GRAPHs SAY the SAME thing? YES-- in many ways. This ACTivity will cement understanding of both kinds of GRAPHs by comparing them. This is all High-Order Thinking and Analysis--but presented in a simplistic and easy to understand way. This COMPARE ACTivity has two differentiated levels-- one showing only the ways the Graphs are the SAME, and another with how they are the SAME and their Individual Differences with colors and arrows to their matching graph. For example, the DistTime Graph on the left shows "constant speed" with a slanted upwards straight line. This MATCHes the SpeedTime Graph with a flat-straight line. For the Basic Activity--just place "shows Constant SPEED" between them. In the more difficult Activity, also add (in Red) "shows Constant SPEED AWAY from Start" for LEFT DistTime Graph and (in Blue) "shows Constant SPEED of ___km/hr" Use the Activity either way or differentiate for different students. This activity can be copied onto cardstock and used as a TEAM, Station or Small group CARD-Match ACTivity, or copied as a BASE for student's Notebooks-- and let them use the Graph and Phrase Banks to cut/paste or copy/draw the answers onto the BASE.
I have included several FREEBIES so that hopefully you'll see the time and care--and experience-- I have put into my work, and will allow me to plan your UNITs:) Please enjoy my TEAM Management System, Motion Graphs GraphiQEXPLAIN Multimedia Presentation (with my 4-Step NO FAIL Method) with Matching Student FRAMES and GraphiQ MAP from my complete UNIT on DistTime and SpeedTime Motion GRAPHS. I also threw in my Unit Lesson Plans and GOALS for students/parents. Please let me know if you like them and leave comments, if so:) FYI--these barely scratch the surface of the files in the complete unit product(17 well thought through arc of learning-- files)! All my UNITs are incredible values--but we are all TEACHERS-- so, I won't price them any higher:) (as I've seen many who sell Units with 7 or 8 activities for way more) I know these will help you ROCK the Science in your CLASSROOM! Please spread the word if you like my work!
