This set of tasks will teach and develop comparing and contrasting skills to improve reading and comprehension skills.
There is an instructional poster or anchor chart explaining the concept of COMPARING and CONTRASTING plus 16 Task Cards, a response worksheet, discussion prompting strips and a task record that will end in a colorful bookmark.
Print and Go!
Great independent activity for literacy centers.
After you've introduced the concept with the poster, you can place it on a display wall or in a resource folder as an anchor chart for students reference. It makes a great focal point for a wall display, surround by student's task work.
These 16 tasks encourage students to think and delve deeply as they read. Six cards are image-based: ten are text-based.
I introduce the image ones first, so students can concentrate on the skill without the stress of de-coding.
There are two printing options; US paper and spelling or Australian spelling and A4.
This is my second set of tasks for this skill.
I have other Comprehension Skills Task Cards you may find interesting.
AND the same skills on the MEMORY FAN
