Conic Sections - Game of Spoons
Review of CONICS in a fun, engaging way.
Played like the game of “Spoons,” this small group activity gives students an opportunity to review Conic Sections. They won’t even realize they are learning!
This set of cards includes 64 cards, 16 sets of four different cards that match a conic (parabola, circle, ellipse or hyperbola) to two different equations and a graph.
The goal is to get a complete set of 4 cards that includes a graph, two equations and a card that identifies the conic as a parabola, circle, ellipse or hyperbola.
The game is easily adapted to the skill levels of your students... for example, you can use only one equation and look for sets of three. Print a double deck to make matches easier.
OR use any of the included ideas to play a different matching game.
