Complete Sentence Including Question
20 questions (5 per week for 4 weeks) with CSIQ question and answer prompts.
Welcome back to school
My favorite things
What makes a successful student
Welcome back from break
Excellent questions to start the school year and the routine of answering BOP (Beginning of Period) questions. There are also other fun topics to use for testing weeks or when returning from winter and spring break to ease back into the school routine.
DIRECTIONS: I use one question per day as a warm up in my special ed, middle school reading comprehension class. The questions start off as one sentence questions and answers but progress in complexity. There are three blank slides un the ‘Welcome Back From Break’ section to fill in as you see fit for whatever topic you are starting or continuing after break.
DIFFERENTIATION: I start by displaying the questions and CSIQ response and have students fill in their answer. As I progress and see that some students are getting the hang of CSIQ while others may not, I start asking students to verbally tell me the CSIQ response before displaying the response on the board.
ORGANIZATION: I use a comp book in my class. Since my classes are small, I separate the Comp book into the following sections using flexible post-it tabs labeled as follows:
BOP – Beginning of Period (This could also be the Do Now or whatever your school’s terminology is)
PROCEDURE: I have students answer the CSIQ questions in their BOP section by writing the title and date on the left side of the page (one page can fit many responses).
