I've taught it BUT they still don't know it!!!!! Maybe you're not matching you instruction to the wording on the test. As an instructional coach I spend a lot of time analyzing data and often see how students will do well on one question but then do get another question wrong...but both questions were on the same standard. As I spoke to teachers and asked them..."Why the discrepancy between questions?. The answer usually related to the wording they use in their instructions. Students would get it correct when they question matched they way the teacher used it in their instruction.
To gather these sentence frames/question stems, I went through the CST release questions and LPA questions (LAUSD Periodic Assessments). This document will help teacher alternate their wording in their instructions to equip students in understanding the wording of test questions.
