This ho-hum crasher activity introduces right triangles to students. Each team of three works together to create 3D knowledge cubes about right triangles and the Pythagorean Theorem. Once the cubes are constructed, teams stack them so that four sides reflect a topic about right triangles (parts of the right triangle, Pythagorean's Theorem, right angle, etc.). It's a puzzle. It's a hands on activity. It's minds on, too. There is only one way that the cubes will stack to reveal the correct information.
One of the best parts about this purchase? Once the team's stack is correct, the team reflects on their learning and extends their knowledge of the Pythagorean theorem by completing a set of questions and problems.
Answer key to the correct stack and the worksheet included. Directions for teacher and students included. Objective and lesson plan included.
Black and white print outs from templates work great, and you may find students want to decorate their cubes before building. My students did a great job on their cubes.
