CULTURE INFUSED- 50 Ways to Energize Your School
Leaders are constantly seeking ways to energize their school culture throughout the year. With so many challenges, it’s important to focus on the positive things happening in our schools and districts.
Celebrating and reinforcing the behaviors we wish to see in our schools and classrooms is key. So many times, our energy is drawn to the challenges which can drain our energy and deprive us of innovation and creativity. This can make us feel like we’re going to work each day instead of fulfilling our purpose or calling.
When we create positive culture, we create learning opportunities where teachers and staff feel valued and appreciated, we build confidence in our teams, and we reinforce the positive things we see in our schools so that we see them show up more often.
Many of the ideas we share in the next pages have been practiced in our own schools or have been gathered from working with schools over the past several years from all over the country.
As educators and school administrators for several years, culture was our number one priority. We knew if we could create a school that students and staff enjoyed, they would want to share their gifts and talents to help us move the school in a positive direction. In addition to the ideas we have outlined below, we want to encourage you to solicit ideas from your team. Our hope is that they will read through the ideas, and it will trigger other ideas that will help to promote a positive culture.
All roles in schools from teachers to cafeteria workers are critical to sustaining positive culture and student success. Let us prepare to celebrate your teachers and staff to ensure they know they have found a school that truly values their impact and contributions.
Thank you for joining us on this journey of transforming culture and creating positive schools!
