I was trying to think of a way to encourage participation in my middle school ELA classroom and this is what I came up with! Student each get a punch card that works much like a store customer appreciation card. They get it punched when the are on task, get an awesome grade, have a phenomenal comment, show great participation, etc, etc etc. It is at my discretion when/if I punch cards, so it keeps kids on their toes. When their card is full (or half full) depending on the reward they can cash it in for things like sitting with a friend, computer time, homework pass or candy.
I will CUSTOMIZE your cards with your name (or anything else you want it to say). I can also change the color and font to match any theme you may have going on in your classroom. You will get a pdf that can be printed out onto cardstock. I have mine holepunched and then put on a ring that they keep attached their binder.
