The CUT THE CAKE game is used during small group or direct instruction as an incentive. It keeps the scholars motivated during the lesson. For example, in direct instruction if you have different sections of the lesson you can use this an incentive to promote participation and good behaviors. If there are 10 parts your lesson, who ever gets the most slices for each part, wins the incentive. Laminate it then you can use your dry erase marker to slice the cake according to parts, topics, or sections of instruction. Tag the slice with the scholar’s name that wins the slice!! I usually use the scratch and sniff cupcake stickers from Amazon. My students loved it!!
