These Boom Cards will help your students to identify the CVC word families that they have been learning. This is a drag and drop activity where students see a word family and pick out 1 choice between 3 to add to the family.

This is the Level 1 activity. On Level 2 students will type the word family on each slide. If you feel your students are ready for that level, click here for more information.

It is a Thanksgiving themed activity where students add a turkey feather to the turkey.

This is great for self checking and teachers can choose the order and which slides to include. Each time a student uses the cards, it puts them in a different order. You can also pick the cards students use and choose the number of cards they get.

I use them during ELA centers as a way to reinforce information that we have already learned. These are great for distance learning as students need extra practice.

What is Boom?

Boom Learning is an offsite resource filled with digital activities made by teachers. Students are working on digital task cards on their own. They are interactive, self checking, entertaining, and a great review. These work great for test skills and practice.

Boom has free and paid accounts. For the paid accounts the teacher can track which ones are done correctly and get the student's score.

How it works in the classroom or with Distance Learning

Students log into Boom with a link sent to their email, Google Classroom or another online platform. They will be given 23 task cards. The program cycles thru them at random order. If a student is correct, it moves them on. If not correct, they work on it til they get it correct. These work well in small groups, as homework, or as distance learning.
