Students may use a counter for each letter and move the counter as they segment the sounds in the word. Differentiate the activity by building the words using tiles, writing the letters, and segmenting the sounds. Use them in small groups, as intervention, and in centers as independent work. Laminate the cards and use dry erase markers to save paper and ink. Use an O Ring to keep them together or keep them as is on one page and place in page protectors in a 3 ring binder.
