A Each word has a corresponding illustration. Children write each word three times. Correct letter formations are supported with decreasing cues, p. 1,3,5,7,9,11.
B Children listen for and write the beginning sound for each of the CVC words, p. 2,4,6,8,10,12.
C Given picture cues they unscramble words from one word family along with pre-primer and primer words to construct and write a sentence. Steps BC are repeated six times, p 2,4,6,8,10,12.
D All the short e CVC words are scrambled and children listen for and write the last sound (36 words). p. 13-18
