SO many skills in this hands center!

•Sound recognition

•Sound symbol correspondence

•Phonemic awareness (initial sound fluency, phoneme segmentation)

•Left to right directionality

•Three levels for differentiation, writing component for recording

•Two options for activity: magnetic letters OR playdough!
**NOT a rhyming activity (focus is MEDIAL vowel sounds)

Easy on the ink, quick to prep, super engaging, fun and effective!

Also fantastic for small group interventions, quick assessments, RTI, Dibels prep, and spiral review.

Included in this resource:

•15 CVC Medial Sound Mats with a FALL theme (3 levels to differentiate for each vowel)

•Word list writing prompt for recording words built (2 levels for differentiation)

•Anchor Chart to guide with directions and teacher question prompts

Suggestions for use:

Use a magnifying glass for students to isolate the picture they are choosing. Use Letters OR Playdough to build the words.

If desired, have them cross out the pictures they have done with a dry erase marker to keep track and/or use

the recording sheet to add a writing component to the activity!
