These little cards are perfect for students who are beginning to stretch out words and put them back together. The cards are cut and pegs attached (instructions and diagram included). Players unclip the pegs on at a time and look under the flap. As they do so, players say the sound that corresponds to the letter shown underneath the flap. After the player has read all three letters they attempt to decode the word. By uncovering the fourth flap students are able to see if they were correct by looking at the matching picture. In my classroom I have also used these cards as a literacy center where students play this back to front. Instead of revealing flaps 1, 2 and 3 first, my students uncover the picture flap. Students then attempt to write the word on their sheet and when finish open the remaining flaps to see if they were correct! A very open ended resource that works well in a whole class or small group learning experience. Includes – 44 peek – a – boo cards, assembly diagram and instructions for use.
