These activity sheets can be used in various ways to help students practice decoding and encoding CVC word families. I highly recommend the use of magnetic letters in combination with the practice sheets, so that children can touch and manipulate each letter and sound, followed by tracing the word, and finally writing the word independently. They can be laminated and used over and over, or photocopied and handed out to small groups during or after the word work portion of a guided reading lesson. Children could also cut the words apart and keep them in envelopes for further use in word sorts. In addition, they can also be used as homework practice. The file includes 19 pages, with each page containing 4 words with the same phonogram. The following phonograms are included: -ag, -ad, -ay, -an, at, -et, -en, -ip, -ig, -in, -og, -op, -ot, -op, -ox, -un, and -ug.
