CVC & Pre-Primer Sight Words - Read & Cover Challenge (RTA inspired)

PDF (448 KB|6 pages)

Assess your students' CVC and sight word ability through a fun reading activity.

These board games include light blue colored words and reading dots to help students who have difficulties with CVC words.

I am a huge fan of the "Reading the Alphabet" curriculum by This Reading Mama. I have used it to teach my 3/4-year old Japanese class to read English. After we finished each unit, I wanted to see how well each student could read, and this game was a great way to see how much they learned.

Play this activity in three ways:

1. As a read and cover challenge between two teams or two players.

2. As a bingo game where they can win with three in a row or four in a row.

3. As a solo read and cover activity placed in a literacy center.
