Form to document CVC words
2 pictures to be placed on bins to depict real or nonsense
The 1st activity can be done with a small group or independently. Letters need to be strategically placed on colored cubes, tiles or chips. Children will choose 3 cubes, one of each color and in turn document the letters of the CVC word they created on the sheet provided. They in turn need to decide if this is a real or nonsense word and document accordingly. A simple form is included for the children to document their words.
The 2nd activity can be used as a whole group or as a circle activity. It includes 56 real and nonsense words on task cards. Two pictures are included to depict whether the word they choose is real or nonsense. These pictures can be glued on bins and students can place their word in the appropriate bin.
