Product Description
Word Work is an important part of your Guided Reading time with your students, which is why I made these resources --- to make your life easier (and mine too)! Students need targeted instruction and lots of repetition in order to move further in their reading development. Sometimes our little learners need to practice CVC words over and over in order for it to click. I have created many different CVC products so you are able to change it up in your Guided Reading or Intervention groups or even to practice further at center time.

Here is what is included in this resource:
* 68 Segment and Blend Cards with REAL Photos

I find that real photos are not only more relatable for children, but my students are more engaged. These Segment & Blend Cards are designed for students who need support with phoneme segmentation as part of developing their phonemic awareness skills. Segmenting phonemes without the visual of the letter attached is a very important precursor to being able to decode words. Children need to become fluent with hearing the sounds in words and separating them out BEFORE they are able to stretch out letter sounds when decoding a word. Students should practice touching each dot and saying one sound or phoneme for each dot. For example: /c/ /a/ /t/. It is also important for them to then blend those sounds back together.

This resource is part of a larger BUNDLE of CVC Phonics Cards. Buying the BUNDLE is definitely the best deal - more bang for your buck!
