Get your students excited about working with CVC words!
I tell them that they are word detectives that need to solve some word mysteries!
Included in download:
Labels to make a word detectives notebook. Print and glue to the front a paper folder. Put these sheets inside for students to use at a center or during small group time for practice!
The CVC Word Mystery: Students will look at a picture clue, add the missing short vowel, and then close the case by writing the mystery CVC word on the line provided.
Find the Hidden Words: Students will use the Box of Hidden Words and try to organize the given letters to make 5 words. The detectives have left one clue, but they'll need to figure out the rest on their own!
Word Mysteries: Students will read the clues and help the detectives solve the case. What rhymes with cat, but starts with "s"? Sat! Case closed!
Sight Word Search: Students will use their skills to read through a book of their choice. They will keep track of every time they see a sight word that is listed. Then they will write it in the correct column for practice!
