These printables are a fun and engaging way to practice reading and spelling CVC words. Each printable has four activities: blending words from two word families, sorting the words, spelling the words and a "game like" activity.

Word Families Included:

  • ad, an
  • at, ap
  • ot, op
  • et, en
  • it, in
  • ug, un
  • ut, ub
  • ig, ip
  • ag, am

Directions for the Activities:

  • Blend the sounds for each word, orally
  • Sort and write out the words
  • Identify the word, and spell it in the boxes below each picture.
  • Each time the student completes one of the of activities, he or she gets a check-mark and gets to complete part of the game.
  • When the student completes all the activities, he or she completes the ending task on the game (ex. color the frog, castle, last bug, ect.)
