These highly engaging interactive CVC word games
will definitely excite your students as they learn and practice reading CVC words
. Interactive games make learning fun, and, students who are having fun while learning, are more motivated to pay attention and stay focused on the subject.
⭐What is included in this digital resource?⭐
There are two separate PowerPoint presentations
included in this download and each presentation includes 6 different games, for a total of 12 games.
In total, there are 10 games for each short vowel and 2 games with a mix of all short vowels.
These games include clickable transitions with fun sound effects.
Students will hear chimes, clanks, and clicks, as they transition through the slides, looking at pictures of CVC words and choosing the words that name the pictures.
Each PowerPoint presentation has 115 interactive slides, for a total of 230 interactive slides.
I included 2 different recording sheets for each game, for a total of 12 recording sheets.
You will also find the PDF version of the games
. The PDF version is clickable, but there aren't any sounds associated with the clicks.
Just in case you've never added PowerPoint presentations to your student iPads, I included explicit directions
on how to do this, along with picture support.
⭐What do I need to use this resource?⭐
I created these games in PowerPoint, so if you want your students to hear the fun sound effects as they click through the slides, they will need to play the games on a device that has PowerPoint installed
. Students can use a desktop computer, laptop, or iPad. You can project the games using a document camera or smart board, as well. I also included the PDF version of the games, so you can play this version on any device. Remember, though, the PDF version will not have any of the fun sound effects, but students will still enjoy clicking through the slides.
⭐How could I use these games with my students?⭐
These interactive games are great for whole group lessons on your smart board or document camera, or, on individual computers or devices, during center time or during your reading groups. They are also great for morning arrival work, and, anytime you need your students active and engaged. Once you model how to play the games, students will be able to play them independently.
Over and over again!
⭐What grade were these games created for?⭐
I created these games with kindergartners in mind. However, any student, in any grade, who needs extra practice sounding out words, will greatly benefit from these games.
