These CVC cards can be used in a variety of ways to best meet your students needs. For best results, print out the following pages on card stock and laminate. Students should draw a picture card and then make the word.
I’ve included letter cards where the vowels are red and the consonants are blue, but you can use ANYTHING. Sand, letter clothespins, magnets, dry erase markers...use your imagination!
As a challenge, I’ve added a few blends (sled, crab, frog and sloth) I’ve also made blend cards - if you choose to use these, you can have students use the blend cards or just the regular letters.
One of the beautiful results of this kind of open ended center is that you as a teacher are able to see which students are struggling with initial sounds, ending sounds or identifying consonant and vowels.
This is part of a larger bundle in the works that includes 3 weeks of Literacy Centers that correlate to the Benchmark Literacy curriculum. Follow my store to receive updates (and discounts)when new products are posted.
