CVC Words Game - Whoo Can Make Words?
This cute owl themed game is great at teaching children to build and read CVC words. The game play is similar to UNO with two play on piles.
To play, mix the deck and pass each child 6 cards. Place the rest of the deck in the center as a Draw Pile. Take one Blue Card (word beginnings) and one Green Card (word endings) from the Draw Pile, and set them next to each other in the center. They should make a word.
For your turn you can either play one Blue Card or one Green card, but it has to make a word with the other card already there. If you do not have a card in your hand that will make a word, you must draw a card from the draw pile, and that is the end of your turn.
The first person to play all of their cards down wins the game.
