Product Description
Play dough activity mats help young students learn concepts such as phonics and phonemic awareness while developing their fine motor skills.

Note: This set contains the same words as in the following link, but the frames are multicolored instead of black: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/CVC-Words-Play-Dough-Mats-Black-Frames-724358

This file features six different CVC words for each vowel (for total of 30 unique CVC words) on illustrated play dough mats. They are:
A - cat, bag, pan, sad, jam, map
E - hen, bed, red, jet, web, vet
I - bib, wig, win, six, pig, fin
O - dog, fox, hot, mop, box, top
U - run, tub, tug, cub, gum, bus

This file also features four different mat types for each CVC word:
-Set 1 has a blank square in the place of the middle vowel. Students must form that letter using play dough and put it in the blank square.
-Set 2 has a blank square in the place of the first consonant.
-Set 3 has a blank square in the place of the last consonant.
-Set 4 features letter outlines for students to fill in with play dough. It has no blank squares.

These sets range in complexity. Set 4 (no blanks) is the simplest because it only requires students to fill in the letters in a given CVC word outline using play dough. Sets 2 and 3 are slightly more challenging, respectively. Set 1 is the most complex of the four featured versions because middle sounds are the most challenging to hear.

These CVC word play dough mats make an excellent literacy or fine motor skills center.

Tip: For optimal durability and aesthetic appeal, print out the desired play dough mat set using colored printer ink on card stock. Laminate and cut carefully around the outer lines. Adjust settings such as scale and "fit to page" to increase or decrease the size of the play dough mats.

Enjoy!
