Fun activities for young students to use puzzles to make CVC words.
Opportunity for students to practice initial, medial and final letters in a CVC word and blend to read.
This product contains:

• CVC Large Puzzles (Purple) with black and white pictures (57 CVC words)

Each letter is on a puzzle piece so that the student can make a word.
• CVC Puzzle pieces with and without pictures
Cut/paste: Practical activity for children to cut out and sort the pieces into a CVC word and stick into their workbook or on a worksheet. They can record the word(s) they have made.
Easier puzzles are with pictures on all the pieces.
For more able students: There are puzzles without pictures on the three pieces, but one piece has a picture to complete the puzzle.
You can prepare and cut up a select of puzzle pieces for students to sort and stick.
• CVC Large Puzzles (Purple) with black and white pictures
Independent activity for children to do.
Just leave a selection of puzzle sheets and plain paper on their tables. They cut out the puzzle and put them together to make the CVC words. The picture on the puzzle piece completes the puzzle.
• CVC Large Puzzles (Green) with color clipart
It is best to print onto cardstock/good quality paper and laminate and then cut out. A total of 73 CVC words which you can print and laminate whenever you need a set of words.
Ideal for literacy center/early finishers and for small group work.
Children can access these sets of puzzles anytime to practice making CVC words.
Other suggested activity
Once a word is made with the puzzle, students can write the word on their whiteboards or in their workbooks and write other CVC words that rhyme with the puzzle, e.g. ram, yam, ham and jam; pad, sad, mad and had.
