This is a CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) box activity. There are two options for the 16 CVC picture cards. Students can either write the whole word or write the beginning sound.
Activities to do with these cards:
Give students counters, small candy, miniature chocolate, etc. to place onto the boxes. Students will pull the counters/candy down off the page as they say each sound then sweep their finger across the word to blend the sounds.
Students could point to the sounds with pretend witch fingers, finger beam lights, or pointers as they say each sound.
Laminate the cards. Students will then write the initial letter or whole word into the boxes with a dry erase marker.
