This vowel activity has been a wonderful resource for my students for over 20 years! Children learn to distinguish between long and short vowels by pretending to be the letters in a word. They soon understand the difference a friend can make. The rule, Two Vowels Go Walking, is on an Anchor Chart. The activity is also written and illustrated on Anchor Charts showing children the steps in which to follow. Letter cards are included in this sample. Please see my complete Vowel Buddies unit in my TPT store. It contains 31 sets of words that can be made from 17 color (and 17 black line) full size letter cards and a set of 48 tile cards for small group activity. Enjoy!
